A much more pleasant day! The temps dropped a little, but the humidity dropped significantly, which made for a much more doable level of heat.
I was joined in the morning by local Lawrence resident Elizabeth Kirby and her six year old daughter, C, who kept me company for the first mile of the day. C is a very clever and witty little kid!
After that, I took ever so slight a detour for the opportunity to see more of downtown Lawrence - adorable! If you ever find yourself there, I highly recommend Barker Cafe & Bakery - everything looked incredible and everything I tried was truly delicious. Having indulged myself in that little detour, I got back on the proposed route and walked out to Eudora.
