Ryan, who flew all the way from Minneapolis to ride 242 miles in 2 1/2 days.
Marguerite, who ran the support from Oberlin, over 300 miles, day in and day out, routing areas, biking a bit, tracking miles, providing safety, and overall loving good helpfulness.
Bill, the digital media guru.
And Emily, without whom this grand adventure and demand for Women’s Rights would not even have begun.
The Susan B. Anthony Ride for Women’s Rights successfully reached its destination today! Eureka, we made it to Topeka! Yeehaw we did it!
Today’s 15 mile ride took Susan from Silver Lake Township to the Kansas State Capitol building in Topeka. The ride was smooth but for a train blocking our path for a very long time. We waited almost an hour before finally giving up, loading the bike onto our truck, and crossing the tracks via a freeway overpass (bikes are prohibited on interstates). We unloaded the bike on the other side of the train and Susan resumed the ride.
It was thrilling to reach our destination. Now Emily, the instigator of the Women’s Walk Across America, will don her backpack and resume the cross-country journey on foot.
