First mile of the second day under our belts! Mile 13 of 3,028

Animal encounters on the road today:

• 8 barking dogs

• 7 sheep

• One beautiful cat crouching in a ditch

• One each: dead bird, dead skunk, dead garter snake

• 2 unidentifiable piles of remains in various states of decay

• At least half a dozen horses

• A handful of cows

• 2 donkeys and…

• 2 very curious alpacas
